Okuma’s own history starts with precision: founder Eiichi Okuma built a high-accuracy lathe in-house back in 1898 specifically to machine 0.05mm-wide parts — the technology that eventually turned the company into a machine tool builder in its own right. That heritage shows up directly in the die/mold and tool-making segment today, where Okuma builds heavy, sturdy machines specifically so there are “no shortcuts” in accuracy, whether it’s casting number one off the line or casting number one thousand.

Two Ways We Support Your Shop

Tool and mold shops don’t all need the same thing from us, so we offer two genuinely different paths depending on what’s down and how urgent it is.

On-site repair. For faults that need hands on the machine — wiring, mechanical work, on-machine diagnostics — we send a technician to your facility. Our country coverage above reflects where we’ve built up this kind of on-site delivery experience.

Mail-in component repair. For a specific failed board, drive or spindle, many shops find it faster to ship us the component directly rather than wait for a site visit. We diagnose and repair it at component level in our workshop, then ship it back tested and ready to reinstall.
