What Is Okuma CNC Replacement & Overhaul?
A targeted repair fixes today's fault. An overhaul goes further: we open the module, replace the component that actually failed, and also replace the parts that are known to fail next — aging electrolytic capacitors, worn connectors, tired cooling fans — even though they haven't failed yet. The goal isn't just getting the unit working again; it's sending back a module that isn't going to be back on our bench in six months for a different reason.
This matters most on units that have been in service a long time, units that have already failed more than once, or units you want rebuilt and kept as a ready spare rather than repaired reactively after the next breakdown. Okuma itself runs an official Certified Exchange Parts program through its Mechanical and Electrical Exchange Divisions, refurbishing spindles, drives, boards and power supplies with OEM parts for customers who go through an authorized distributor. We are not part of that program — we're an independent alternative, offering a similar full-rebuild philosophy at component level, including on older generations that Okuma's own exchange stock may no longer cover.

Our Two-Stage Testing Process
Stage one runs the rebuilt unit under safe, controlled conditions — galvanic isolation and limited supply power — to catch any gross fault before it's ever connected to a real motor or load. This is the same cautious first step used across the industry precisely because it protects both the unit and the equipment it will eventually run on.
Stage two is full-load testing on dedicated test stands, matched to the specific drive and feedback type — different encoder types need different test setups to genuinely simulate real operating conditions. Only once a unit passes both stages does it get calibrated, documented and shipped.
This two-stage approach takes longer than a single functional check, and that's deliberate. An overhaul is meant to be the last repair a module needs for a long time, not just the next one.
